Cookies and local storage

What this website stores in your browser and what it counts, without cookies.

Last updated 2026-11-08

This website (chaosdesk.io) sets no cookies and loads no third-party script unless you agree. It uses your browser’s storage only for the keys below.

Visit counting (our own, no consent needed). Each page sends one small message to our own server (in the EU) with the page address (without any query string), the site you came from (only its domain), the campaign name in the link (UTM source, medium and campaign) and whether your screen is phone, tablet or desktop sized. We do not store your IP address, set no cookie and keep no identifier in your browser. To count unique visitors per day, the server makes a one-way hash of your IP address and browser name with a random value that is replaced every day and never stored with the data, so a visit cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is sent at all. The counts are kept for 400 days.

Key or scriptWhat it is forWhenHow long
cd-consent (local storage)Remembers whether you allowed analytics, so we do not ask againAfter you choose in the bannerUntil you clear it
cd-attribution (local storage)The campaign (UTM parameters), landing page and referring site of your visit, passed to the sign-up form so we know which campaigns workOnly if you allowed analytics90 days from your last visit with a campaign link
cd-touch (session storage)The campaign (UTM parameters) or referring site and landing page of this visit, added to the sign-up link so the new workspace records which campaign brought it. No identifierWhen you arrive from a campaign link or another siteUntil you close the tab
cd-roadmap-votes (session storage)Remembers which roadmap items you voted for, so the button shows “Voted”Only when you voteUntil you close the tab
Plausible Analytics script (optional, off by default)Counts page views and sign-up clicks without cookies and without storing IP addresses. The consent banner only appears when we turn it onOnly if you allowed analyticsNo data in your browser

If you decline (or are never asked), the campaign of this visit is still forwarded to the sign-up link you click through cd-touch, which disappears when you close the tab; cd-consent and cd-attribution are only used when the banner is shown.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. Declining deletes cd-attribution.

The ChaosDesk app, help centres and the messenger have their own list of cookies and storage keys, published in the help centre documentation.
