Speed
Fast is a feature. We measure it.
Every change to ChaosDesk runs against performance budgets in CI. If opening a ticket or loading a view gets slower than the budget, the change does not ship. These are the latest measurements, with where and when they were taken.
Headline measurements
57 ms
To open a ticket at the API (p95)
Budget 300 ms. Measured 2026-11-06 on the PHPUnit kernel (PostgreSQL 16) on a MacBook dev machine.
166 ms
To load a view at the API (p95)
Budget 200 ms. Same run.
1.44 s
Until the ticket is on screen (median LCP)
Budget 1.5 s. Measured 2026-11-06 on a MacBook dev machine (shared Docker stack), production build.
12/12
Budgeted checks within budget
Every check on this page, from the latest measurement of each.
Server
The two requests an agent waits for most
Opening a ticket (look it up, load the conversation) and loading a view, measured at the API. 95th percentile, median in brackets.
| Check | Measured | Budget | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open a ticket (API, p95) | 57 ms (median 41) | 300 ms | Within budget |
| Load a view (API, p95) | 166 ms (median 109) | 200 ms | Within budget |
Measured 2026-11-06 on the PHPUnit kernel (PostgreSQL 16) on a MacBook dev machine. The bar is the measurement, the line is the budget.
In the browser
From the click to the conversation on screen
Largest contentful paint of a full ticket page load on a production build, median of several loads.
| Check | Measured | Budget | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ticket page, largest contentful paint (median) | 1436 ms | 1500 ms | Within budget |
Measured 2026-11-06 on a MacBook dev machine (shared Docker stack), production build, 20 samples. The bar is the measurement, the line is the budget.
JavaScript per page
Every page has a size budget
First-load JavaScript (gzip) of the busiest pages. A change that grows a page past its budget fails the build.
| Check | Measured | Budget | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ticket page (agent) | 516 kB gzip | 540 kB gzip | Within budget |
| View (ticket list) | 470 kB gzip | 495 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Agent home | 356 kB gzip | 375 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Reports | 388 kB gzip | 405 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Admin Center | 380 kB gzip | 400 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Help centre home | 229 kB gzip | 240 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Help centre article | 231 kB gzip | 245 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Chat widget | 244 kB gzip | 255 kB gzip | Within budget |
| Sign in | 233 kB gzip | 245 kB gzip | Within budget |
Measured 2026-11-06 on production build (Next.js 15). The bar is the measurement, the line is the budget.
Method
How we measure
Numbers you can reproduce, not a benchmark we tuned for a slide.
- Server budgets run in CI against a seeded database: 120 tickets, a conversation of several replies, 40 samples after a warm-up, 95th percentile.
- Browser budgets load the ticket page in headless Chromium against a production build and read the largest contentful paint.
- Bundle budgets read the build manifest after every production build.
- Budgets only go up with a written reason in the change that raises them.
