Install an app

Add apps to the ticket sidebar, such as Jira or linked tickets, and choose who sees them.

Apps run in the ticket’s side panel, in a sandbox. Their secret settings stay on the server and are used only by ChaosDesk’s request proxy, so agents’ browsers never see them.

Install a built-in app

  1. Open Admin Center, Integrations, Apps.
  2. Under Built-in apps, pick one and choose Install:
    • Jira: create and link Jira issues from a ticket. Needs your Jira site URL, account email and API token.
    • Linked tickets: link related tickets together.
    • Ticket requirements: block an update until required fields are filled, for example type, priority, group, assignee, tags or a custom field.
  3. Fill in the Settings and save.

Install your own app

  1. Choose Install from manifest URL.
  2. Paste the https URL of the app’s manifest.json.
  3. Choose Install, then fill in its settings.

Building an app? See the app framework.

Choose who sees an app

Under Who sees it, limit the app to some Groups or Roles, or leave Everyone. Contextual workspaces can also decide which apps load for which tickets.

Network access

An app can only call the hosts its manifest allows. Add more under Extra allowed hosts. Turn on Allow private network only when the app must reach an internal address, such as a CRM inside your network.

Manage apps

Use Enabled to switch an app off, Move up and Move down to order the panel, and Uninstall to remove it with its settings.
