Connect Telegram
Answer messages to your Telegram bot as tickets.
Available on Starter, Growth, Pro, Enterprise. Compare plans
This feature is still being built. Some steps or screens may change.
Customers write to your Telegram bot and each conversation becomes a ticket. Agents reply from the ticket and the answer arrives in Telegram.
The connect screen for Telegram is being built. The steps below describe how the channel works today.
Create a bot
- In Telegram, open a chat with @BotFather.
- Send
/newbotand follow the questions: a display name, then a username ending inbot. - BotFather replies with a bot token. Keep it secret.
Connect it to ChaosDesk
Paste the bot token when you connect the channel under Admin Center, Channels, Messaging. ChaosDesk checks the token with Telegram, creates the channel named after your bot (for example “Telegram @example_bot”) and points the bot’s webhook at ChaosDesk with a random secret, so only Telegram can deliver messages to it. You do not need to set up a webhook yourself.
Good to know
- A person can only message your bot after they open it and press Start. Share the link
https://t.me/your_boton your website or in emails. - Telegram has no reply window: you can answer at any time.
- If you change the bot token in BotFather, connect the channel again with the new token.
