Parallel run and go-live
Keep ChaosDesk in step with delta imports, then move each group with a way back.
Parallel run
Turn on delta imports so ChaosDesk copies new and changed Zendesk tickets every few minutes. Team leads check views, forms, SLAs and macros on real tickets. Nobody answers customers in ChaosDesk yet.
Plan the waves
In Admin Center, Integrations, Migration center, group Zendesk groups into waves. Each wave moves through Planned, Parallel run, Live and, if needed, Rolled back.
Go live
For each wave:
- Point its support addresses at ChaosDesk.
- Run a final delta import.
- Turn off its triggers in Zendesk.
- Point its integrations at the Zendesk-compatible API.
- Replace the widget snippet with the ChaosDesk messenger. See Switch the Zendesk widget.
- Move the agents.
Keep Zendesk read-only for the wave during a fallback window. If needed, roll the wave back from the Migration center.
Teams with more than 20 agents get free help planning the waves. Contact us.
